What are the requirements for reproductions in international design applications?

Reproductions in international design applications must comply with the requirements of Rule 9 and Part Four of the Administrative Instructions. As stated in MPEP 2920.04(b):

“A reproduction may be either a drawing, in black and white or in color, or a photograph of the industrial design. As the drawing or photograph constitutes the entire visual disclosure of the claim, it is of utmost importance that the drawing or photograph be a clear and complete depiction of the design applied to the article designated in the title, and that nothing regarding the design sought to be patented is left to conjecture.”

This means that the reproduction must fully and clearly show the claimed design without leaving any aspects to imagination.
