What is the process for updating an inventor’s residence for applications filed before September 16, 2012?
For patent applications filed before September 16, 2012, the process to update an inventor’s residence is slightly different. According to MPEP 719.02:
For applications filed prior to September 16, 2012, applicants are strongly encouraged to file a Supplemental Application Data Sheet showing the new residence information preferably with underlining for insertions and strike-through or brackets for text removed.
