What are the requirements for submitting a computer program listing appendix on compact disc?

When submitting a computer program listing appendix on compact disc, the following requirements must be met:

  • The compact disc must be in read-only (CD-ROM) format.
  • A statement must be included in the specification describing the material on the compact disc and its relationship to the application.
  • The material on the compact disc must be incorporated by reference into the specification.
  • The total number of compact discs and the files on each compact disc must be specified.
  • Each compact disc must be labeled with the inventor’s name, title of the invention, and application number.

As stated in MPEP 608.05(a): “A compact disc submitted under this section must be in read-only (CD-ROM) format.”
