Examiners should handle demonstrations during interviews as follows:
- Approval: Obtain approval from the supervisor before allowing any demonstration.
- Documentation: Record the substance of the demonstration in the interview summary form or in an attachment.
- Safety: Ensure the demonstration is safe and does not pose any risks.
- Confidentiality: Respect any confidential information shared during the demonstration.
According to MPEP 713.08, “The substance of the interview, including a demonstration, must be made of record in the application.” This ensures transparency and proper documentation of all relevant information shared during the interview process.
