This page is an FAQ based on guidance from the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure. It is provided as guidance, with links to the ground truth sources. This is information only: it is not legal advice.
According to MPEP 707.10, applicants can receive copies of examiner’s actions through two methods:
- Electronic delivery: The action may be provided to the applicant electronically.
- Mail delivery: Alternatively, the action may be mailed to the applicant.
The MPEP states: a copy is given electronically or mailed to applicant.
This ensures that applicants receive timely notification of the examiner’s decisions regarding their patent applications, allowing them to respond appropriately within the given timeframe.
