For minor drawing errors in a patent application, the MPEP provides a streamlined process. According to MPEP 608.02(p):

Minor corrections to the drawings may be made by annotated sketch showing the correction.

The process for correcting minor errors includes:

  • Preparing an annotated sketch showing the proposed correction
  • Submitting the sketch with a 37 CFR 1.121(d) compliant amendment
  • Explaining the changes in the remarks section
  • Ensuring no new matter is introduced

This approach allows for efficient correction of minor issues without the need for full replacement sheets, potentially saving time and resources during the application process.
