How can an applicant request republication of a patent application?

An applicant can request republication of a patent application by following these steps:
- File a request for republication using form PTO/SB/11 or an equivalent.
- Pay the required fee for republication.
- Provide a copy of the application in compliance with the Office electronic filing system (EFS) requirements.
The MPEP 1130 states:
“If an applicant files a request for republication of an application previously published, the Office of Patent Application Processing (OPAP) will republish the application, provided the request includes:”
The MPEP then lists the requirements mentioned above. It’s important to note that the request should be filed promptly to ensure timely republication.
