How often is the Patent Classification Retrieval System (PCRS) updated?
The Patent Classification Retrieval System (PCRS) is regularly updated to ensure the most current classification information is available. According to MPEP 902.03(b):
“This data is updated bimonthly with new issues, withdrawn patents and reclassifications.“
This bimonthly update schedule ensures that users have access to the latest classification information, including newly issued patents, patents that have been withdrawn, and any reclassifications that have occurred.
