What additional information must accompany claim amendments in reexamination?

When submitting claim amendments in a patent reexamination, additional information must be provided to support the changes. According to 37 CFR 1.530(e):

“Whenever there is an amendment to the claims pursuant to paragraph (d) of this section, there must also be supplied, on pages separate from the pages containing the changes, the status (i.e., pending or canceled), as of the date of the amendment, of all patent claims and of all added claims, and an explanation of the support in the disclosure of the patent for the changes to the claims made by the amendment paper.”

This requirement ensures that the examiner can easily track the status of all claims and verify that any amendments are supported by the original patent disclosure, maintaining the integrity of the reexamination process.
