What are the size limitations for Sequence Listing XML files?
The USPTO has specific size limitations for Sequence Listing XML files:
- For submissions via EFS-Web or Patent Center, the file size limit is 100 MB.
- For files larger than 100 MB, you must use physical media submission.
The MPEP clearly states: “Sequence Listing XML files larger than 100 MB must be submitted on physical media.” (MPEP 2413.03)
When submitting on physical media, ensure you follow the USPTO’s guidelines for acceptable media types and proper labeling.
